WhatsApp Is Testing A Reaction Button

The earliest reports of WhatsApp working on Message Reactions surfaced a long time ago, and the company has remained quiet since. While other social networking platforms, such as Instagram and Messenger, already have the capability, an instant messaging service known as Telegram just added it to its repertoire. On the other hand, the message response function has recently been discovered on WhatsApp Desktop. Continue reading to learn more about the new response button and additional important information.

The desktop version of WhatsApp, according to WABetaInfo, is getting a Message Reaction feature, which is currently under development. On the right side of the screen, you can see a WhatsApp message sent from the desktop version and six emojis that appear on top of it in what seems to be the Message response choice box. As was previously said, the screenshot indicates a new response button situated on the left side of a message, where the message forwarding option is now present. This was not previously known.

In addition, the magazine points out that the response button is not always readily apparent. When the user's mouse pointer has hovered over or close to the message, it appears. The reaction emoji choices are shown when this button is touched, and users may pick one of them to rapidly express their feelings in response to a specific message after pressing it. The functionality has not yet been made available to Desktop beta testers and is still in the early stages of development.

WhatsApp is also testing a new feature for Android to iPhone transfer, similar to the previous upgrade. Document Preview is the name of this functionality. Users of Android devices will be able to preview images or videos that have been provided to them in the form of documents, as the name implies. Before this, only PDF-type files could be seen in WhatsApp's preview mode. Any picture or video posted on the platform as a document did not appear with a preview in the preview pane. The functionality was discovered by WABetaInfo, which claims that it will be included as part of the next few software upgrades.

It is possible to see a preview of the material before actually opening it using the preview function. The ability to transmit full-size photographs in the form of WhatsApp documents may be quite useful for those who do so often. Because of the lack of a preview, it is difficult for such users to distinguish between images and access the one they desire. WhatsApp is also said to be reducing the compression used to video and photographs sent straight from users' galleys on the platform, which is in addition to the above.

According to WABetainfo, the Meta-owned messaging app WhatsApp is working on sending message responses via the use of a reaction button. WhatsApp news trackers indicate that the feature is still in the early stages of development in the WhatsApp beta for Android and the WhatsApp beta for iOS platforms. However, there was no new information about the web/desktop client, they said. "As you can see in this picture, you can respond to messages by selecting from a selection of six different emoticons," WABetainfo said. The new response button is not always visible because it is only displayed when the cursor is close to a chat or group message. When users click on the response button, they will respond to the message. The news trackers also point out that just because the feature is in the early stages of development does not imply that it will be ready in a short period.
