Top 5 Smartphones Expected In 2022

We're less than a month away from the start of the new year, and several of the smartphones that came out this autumn easily made best-of lists. The Google Pixel 6 and Apple iPhone 13 were released in 2021, but we're looking forward to seeing what 2022 has in store for smartphone debuts.

OnePlus 10 Pro

The OnePlus 10 Pro is expected to include some photography improvements. The OnePlus 10 Pro appears to have a new camera hump, according to renders from high-profile leaker OnLeaks and bargains website Zouton. The camera system looks to have three lenses, similar to the OnePlus 9 Pro, but with a new layout that more closely mimics the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra's quadruple-lens camera setup.

According to Zouton, the phone will have a 6.7-inch 1,440 pixel AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 5,000 mAh battery, and 128GB or 256GB of storage, and it will be released in the first half of 2022.

It's too early to tell how substantial the OnePlus 10 Pro's upgrade over its predecessor will be. However, if OnePlus' next high-end phone does really have camera advancements, it may alleviate one of our only gripes.

iPhone SE 3

In 2020, Apple will replace its $400 budget iPhone for the first time in four years, but it doesn't appear that we'll have to wait that long for the third generation. The iPhone SE 3 is expected to be released in the first half of 2022.

With the addition of Apple's A15 Bionic chip, the same chipset that powers the iPhone 13, it's likely to have 5G support and a performance bump. In comparison, the current iPhone SE is powered by Apple's older A13 Bionic chipset from the iPhone 11.

Face ID may be available for the first time on the next-generation iPhone SE. Furthermore, because the actual home button is still there, both the 2020 iPhone SE and the 2016 iPhone SE include Touch ID. However, sources differ on whether the upcoming iPhone SE will be redesigned or will keep its classic aesthetic.

The iPhone SE 2nd Generation stands out for its excellent performance with the ability to carry out iPhone transfer quite easily, low price, and portability. According to the reports that have surfaced thus far, Apple intends to build on this by providing the iPhone SE with more current features while preserving the attributes that made it so desirable in the first place.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE

According to the new Korean website DDaily, Samsung is aiming to release a sequel called the Galaxy S21 FE in January. If that claim is accurate, though, the phone will only be sold in Europe. That would be a setback for Samsung in the United States, where it is the second-largest smartphone manufacturer behind Apple.

Based on the specifications seen on China's TENAA Certifications website, which MyFixGuide published, the Galaxy S21 FE, Samsung's next mid-range phone, will have a 6.4-inch screen with a 2,340 by 1,080 resolution and three cameras: a 32-megapixel, 12-megapixel, and 8-megapixel lens.

Moreover, according to a leak that leaked on the Google Play Console and was also identified by MyFixGuide, it could possibly arrive with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. That could be one way Samsung differentiates the Galaxy S21 FE from the Galaxy A52 5G, which has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G CPU that is less powerful. The Galaxy S21 FE is believed to look identical to the Galaxy S21 in terms of design.

iPhone 14 Max

The iPhone 14 Max is a larger version of Apple's normal next-generation iPhone. Next year, Apple will abandon the iPhone Mini in favor of a new 6.7-inch iPhone. That means there might be two 6.1-inch models (the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro) and two 6.7-inch models in the iPhone 14 lineup (the iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max).

Apple's iPhone 14 Max appears to be intended for consumers who want a larger screen but aren't interested in the other features found on Apple's Pro line, such as a triple-lens camera and a Lidar sensor. It could be an excellent option for iPhone enthusiasts who want a large display but don't want to spend $1,099 for the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Other intriguing changes are apparently in the works for the rest of the iPhone 14 series, which may make it feel more like a leap forward than the iPhone 13. Apple's 2022 iPhone Pro and Pro Max models could sport a 48-megapixel wide-angle back camera. This is a significant improvement over the iPhone 13 Pro's 12-megapixel camera system.’ In terms of design, 2022 could be the year Apple retires one of the iPhone's most divisive features: the notch.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

According to a report from Front Page Tech, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will include a storage slot for the S-Pen, making it much easier to keep track of Samsung's stylus and avoid losing it. A built-in slot also suggests that the S-Pen will be included in the box with the S22 rather than being sold separately.

Other than that, according to Ice Universe's sources, the Galaxy S22 Ultra would have a camera system with continuous optical zoom. When toggling between focal lengths, this would result in a clearer, uncropped zoom.

Overall, the expected changes might make the Galaxy S22 Ultra an even more appealing option for Galaxy Note fans or those looking for a super-powerful camera phone. Samsung usually announces its new Galaxy lineup between the months of January to March, so we won't have to wait long to find out more.
